Follow these simple steps:

Open a new United Community Bank Account.
Stop by the United Community Bank location nearest you and visit with a Customer Service Representative who can assist you in opening your new account. If it's more convenient, call us to get the process started.

Stop using your old bank account.
Verify all of your checks have cleared. Destroy all of your old unused checks, deposit slips and ATM/debit cards or bring them in and we'll shred them for you.

Change all of your direct deposits.
Use the AUTHORIZATION TO CHANGE DIRECT DEPOSIT FORM to authorize the change in accounts. Make sure you include a voided check or deposit slip from your new account.

Change all of your automatic payments.
Use the AUTHORIZATION TO CHANGE AUTOMATIC PAYMENT FORM to authorize the change in accounts. Be sure to transfer your existing automatic online bill payments to UCB's Free Online Bill Payment Service. Also, remember to update any saved bank information records on payments made regularly online to your new UCB account number.

Close your old bank account.
Use the AUTHORIZATION TO CLOSE ACCOUNTS FORM to authorize the closing of your old bank account. If you have a remaining balance, your old bank will send you a check. It's really just that simple.
